Helium Leak Tester Helium Leak Test System

Yamaha Fine Tech's proprietary low vacuum test realizes highly reliable measurement.
With our proprietary low vacuum chamber system and helium gas detector, highly reliable inspections are conducted.
Easy operation and easy maintenance are realized by a full fail-safe and sophisticated control system.

Features of Helium Leak Tester

Tiny leaks detected accurately

Yamaha's proprietary low vacuum chamber system judges tiny leaks with an accuracy 100 to 1000 times as high as the accuracy of a submerged type or differential pressure air leak detection method.

Construction of a system directly connected to your production line possible

It is possible to construct a system directly connected to your production line and a robot-based transfer system when it is combined with Yamaha's factory automation technology. Productivity can be increased by manpower saving or unmanned operation.

Operational errors are reduced with a fail-safe system

A system is designed with safety in mind so as to reduce the operator load and prevent mistakes, such as adopting automatic sorting of conforming/non-conforming items, marking, processing check, and interlocking.

Easy operation and easy maintenance

A sophisticated control system is adopted to make operation and maintenance easy. In case of an operational error or problem, messages in Japanese help you navigate and find a quick and appropriate recovery method.

Comprehensive support provided from design to assembly and adjustment

Comprehensive systems can be offered to customers by carrying out design and manufacturing all in-house, from an inspection workpiece handling machine up to control design and assembly & adjustment.

One of the best track records in Japan

For Yamaha's leak testers, more than 500 systems have been supplied to a wide range of industries, having the top share in each of the fuel tank, aluminum wheel, and drum inspections in Japan.

Examples / Option

We provide special systems tailored for the customers' production lines, such as systems supporting high pressures over 1 MPa and systems supporting full automation. Our personnel with rich experience provide full support, from design to manufacturing, adjustment, and installation. In our test room, demonstration equipment for drums, for fuel tanks, and for 15 MPa high pressure support are available. Feel free to ask for a trial test as needed. As an option, a helium recycling unit is also available.
* For a test pressure of 1 MPa or more, an application to the relevant prefecture is required. Since application forms are also available, feel free to consult with us in the above case.

Chamber method and sniffer method

Chamber method with high performance and high reliability, and sniffer method that is low-cost and space-saving

As a high-performance and high-reliability leak tester, the Yamaha Helium Leak Tester is adopted by many automobile parts and home electric appliance factories for testing such products as aluminum wheels, drums, air conditioners, and fuel tanks. According to the usage, inspection is also possible with such a system as a system employing the sniffer method.

Chamber method whereby tiny leaks are detected accurately

Tiny leaks are judged with an accuracy 100 to 1000 times as high as the accuracy of a submerged type or differential pressure air leak detection method to conduct highly reliable inspection. In addition, compared to the sniffer method, which takes time to detect leaks due to probe operation, overall inspection of product can be conducted speedily.

Reasons why helium (He) is used as tracer gas

  1. Helium is safe because it is not toxic or harmful and does not exert a bad influence on the human body and the environment.
  2. Helium is safe because it is non-combustible.
  3. A helium molecule has a small diameter and a small mass as well. It is easy to leak through even tiny holes.
  4. Usually, helium is present only in small amounts in the atmosphere or metal. Such helium and leaked helium are easy to distinguish.
  5. Helium is difficult to be liquefied in a normal environment. It does not block leak holes.
  6. Chemically, helium is an inert gas. It does not cause metal to rust.
